BEFORE YOU STORE
Prepping your van for storage.
A few things Queensland law and our yard rules require before your caravan settles into its bay:
- Gas bottles removed, or the gas system isolated at the cylinder.
- Solar panels disconnected or covered for the storage period.
- Fridges, freezers and powered appliances switched off: nothing runs on battery or solar while unattended.
- Registration current, or an unregistered vehicle permit clearly displayed.
- Your own lock: a wheel clamp or hitch lock adds another layer on top of the yard’s security.
- Insurance in place for the full storage period, including weather, theft and third-party cover.

Tip: measure coupling to bumper. The number on the compliance plate is usually body length only.
